WHAT IS EVOLUTIONARY ASTROLOGY ?

‘Evolutionary Astrology’ is a name coined by a particular faction of Astrologers that deals with the concept of the human species developing and growing over time.

It asks the question ‘why?’ with the effect of astrological energy in our lives.

Evolutionary Astrology deals with the theory that this lifetime is just part of a continuum and we are all evolving in our own way at our own pace toward a particular goal. This goal is beyond the capacity of our tiny human brains to truly comprehend and to pretend we know it would prove misleading if not arrogant. What is within the grasp of our human understanding however is that certain ‘cause and effect’ style happenings here on the earth plane continue to confirm themselves time and time again, proving the fact that we always get destructive results based on destructive beliefs. Beliefs such as war creates peace, greed creates security and domination creates power are concepts that most of the world still adheres to even though human history on countless occasions have proven them to be false.

The human race is more ‘dumb’ than bad and this lack of ‘intelligence’ stems from a primal fear. It is the fear of change and losing ‘ego’ control. This fear is so encompassing and obsessively strong that it seems super glued into the incarnated DNA, yet how many times do we have to put our hands into the fire before we realise it burns.

Evolutionary Astrology is about growing ‘smarter’

There is nothing overly ‘spiritual’ about evolution, in fact it may be looked on as rather ‘simple’, it’s just a species will adapt to what works.

If we are evolving then this concept suggests a need for a ‘journey,’ one that extends beyond our current ‘blink of an eye’ lifetime. This now takes Evolutionary Astrology into another area not overly embraced by western cultures. It is that of reincarnation.

If everything in the Universe seems to be cyclic why are we linear? It’s only been modern western religion with its relentless need for ‘control’ that has bought into a linear existence. Eastern and ancient cultures and religions have understood multiple lifetimes to be as real as our day to day existence here on earth.

Again it is beyond arrogant to pretend we know how reincarnation works, we don’t and as long as we are in earthly bodies we probably never will. What we do know is that we are not born ‘blank tapes’. We enter our bodies with a prerecording. Look at babies and toddlers; already they have personalities, likes, dislikes, fears and talents beyond what they have been taught, some even have documented recollections of places and people not known this lifetime. Siblings brought up the same way yet chalk and cheese as people is another example. The only reason being is that they were born completely different energies.

With this concept as a principle Evolutionary Astrology pays particular attention to the Lunar Nodes with an emphasis toward the South Node. Here we find the individuals ‘black box’ so to speak with much of what was recorded previously. This energy lays unresolved or left hanging needing to be smoothed over as we trek through this particular lifetime.

Not only do we find some residual clues from the sign and house placement of the South Node itself but also from its ruler, planets conjunct it as well as other planets and points that aspect it particularly opposing or squaring. This fleshes out a complete ‘story’ encompassing the core energy that surrounds many unresolved issues.

As a species we are slightly more evolved today than we were 600 years ago because of the choices we have made by knowing a little more. We have ‘evolved’. We no longer burn women at the stake because they have opinions, yet saying this we still have a long way to go.

Evolutionary Astrology makes sense. It asks questions allowing us to choose the answers. It stresses freedom of choice yet fully aware of accountability. It parallels the theory of ‘cause and effect’ or what some people may call ‘karma’ as it breaks away from random experiences for random reasons putting the ball back into your court.

Everything experienced in Evolutionary Astrology is for the intention of soul growth bringing us closer to what we know on the earth plane as ‘purpose’ or ‘peace’. It recognizes that all your thoughts and actions are either steering you one way or another and that you are always behind the wheel. This flies in the face of older styles of astrology that predict good or bad fortune regardless of your input. It by no means exempts us from life’s pains and turmoil’s, if the primary premise of Evolutionary Astrology is evolution itself, how do we grow without life’s challenges and hurdles. What it does do is put the spotlight on ownership by understanding who we are today is the result of the thoughts and actions of yesterday. Evolutionary Astrology is about empowerment. This power basically lies around confronting fears and trusting an energy beyond the egos need for control. It supplies a way out by shining a light on a more purposeful path. This in turn changes our lives, bringing us into alignment with who we are meant to be, giving us a feeling of ‘coming home’.
